Show moreThe Hall of Progress at the Great Lakes Exposition exhibits the progress of science and new inventions. The Building, 540 feet long and 180 feet wide, is constructed entirely of wood, using a system of building known as "rigid frames," used for the first time in such a large structure. The two interior courts have outdoor gardens Message in handwritten ink on back to "My Dear Margaret" but not posted. Preservation note: Penciled on back "Rossey 86-A". The space between the two buildings forms an interior landscaped exhibition court. Surrounding the structure at the entrances are 32 gigantic pylons 70 feet high, each surmounted by a steel flagpole another 30 feet high, from which are flown gay flags and banners Preservation note: same number and image as other no. 51 but building is labeled "Automotive". Larrinaga, former Hollywood painter and designer. A huge bas-relief map of the Great Lakes area, 50 feet in diameter, is shown in the foreground. The theme will be presented in Lakeside...
